Work From Home Guides

Freelancers are people who work on a contract basis. They usually have more than one employer, and they can choose to accept or decline any job offer sent their way. There are many reasons why freelancers prefer foreign employers over those from the Philippines, but it mostly has to do with cultural differences. Foreign employers usually provide higher pay rates, which makes freelancing an even better option for Filipinos looking for job opportunities.
As someone that has worked locally for more than five years, here are some reasons why I decided to stick to Freelancing, and it’s been a great 2+ years already:
They understand that freelancers are not employees, and they are not as pushy when it comes to setting deadlines or asking for revisions. Foreign employers also tend to be more understanding when freelancers take on other jobs to make more money. This allows freelancers to have a more flexible schedule, which is another reason why I prefer working with foreigners.
Foreign clients are willing to pay more for quality work, and freelancers know that they can get away with charging more since they know their capabilities and worth in terms of the output they can produce.
Foreign employers are also more likely to agree to pay freelancers through Wise or other online payment methods, making it easier for freelancers to get paid on time.
This allows them to learn new things and expand their horizons. It also allows them to meet new people and make new connections.
This is a massive advantage for freelancers since they can continue working even if they are not in the same city or country as their employer. They can also take on more projects and increase their income since they no longer need to spend time and money traveling to and from the office.
One of the reasons freelancers also prefer working with foreign employers is because they are not that strict when it comes to educational attainment. Most local employers make it an absolute requirement to be fluent in English and have a college degree even though the work can be done even by a high school graduate. Communication is essential, but foreign clients understand that English is not your first language; thus, they don’t expect you to be perfect at it. All that matters is that you get the job done.
