Paying for an item you’re purchasing online using a credit card almost seems taboo for a lot. What if it’s a scam? What if I get a defective item? What if the thing doesn’t even get delivered at all? Soo many worries come from buying online but let me share my experience buying an iPhone 11 pro at Lazada without choosing the cash on delivery (COD) option.
The main reason why I purchased this phone is to give it as an anniversary gift to my wife. I was searching for the best deal for an iPhone and through social media and online stores. I saw some legit-looking iPhones with a huge difference in pricing. Upon further questions, It would always lead to the phone being a dual sim version. There are original iPhones with dual sim slots, but I don’t have any experience and don’t have enough time to do some research about it. I thought of buying directly from Apple, but the timeframe they are providing for delivery wasn’t going to work if I were to give this as an anniversary gift for my wife.
Finally, I ended up browsing at Lazada, and the first thing I saw was a less expensive price for an iPhone 11 pro. The only catch was that it was only for the gold color, from the same price as the Apple store of ₱67,990.00 to ₱62,198.00. It wasn’t a tough choice from the other ones I found on Lazada since it’s the cheapest if filtered through the lowest price to the highest. It comes from Lazmall, which gave me a bit of confidence to order since part of their terms and conditions is if they deliver you a fake product or item, they will refund your money and double it! The phones come from Apple directly as per the details.
They offer cash on delivery but only for products that are below 50k. I mustered all the courage as this was my first time making a big purchase online using my credit card. I ordered on an early Sunday morning and got a notification from Lazada to confirm my order. I made the mistake of using my old cellphone number and had to go through their customer support, but as per their online information, it wasn’t possible to change the delivery details once an order had been placed. They also can’t inform the courier of my new number for some unknown reason. It’s a good thing that the courier being a part of Lazada, called me on the day of the delivery. They probably saw my new number on my account, and my old number wasn’t working anymore.
I finally received the phone. Total delivery and processing time was about three business days.

Now for the moment of truth. Is it a legit 100% original iPhone pro? It does come with a 1-year warranty upon checking the IMEI on the box and in the phone settings. How to check the iPhone IMEI warranty and coverage? The thing with the iPhone 11 pro that we got, though, is that it heats up fast! Even when using it lightly, like browsing online, Facebook, or using the camera. I know those can use a lot of power, but the phone just abnormally heats up for some reason. It seems to be a global problem for iPhone 11 series. The solution I found was to do a factory reset on the settings, and it’s now doing well. The phone features like the camera, the operating system, and how the system works for everything the way it’s supposed to be.
Altogether I’m pretty satisfied with my first big purchase from Lazada using a credit card to pay upfront instead of COD. I’ll probably do it again but only for items from Lazmall.
