Lenovo Legion 5i - The Perfect Work and Game Laptop?

I've been eyeing this laptop for a couple of months now and it's probably the one I'll be getting *crossing my fingers* when a good variant becomes available in our country.

Everyone's going minimalist nowadays though I've been trying to keep things simple ever since. We're all trying to be practical but still wants style and performance and I think that's what the Lenovo Legion 5i offers.

It's a savage laptop that starts with 4k Ryzen 5/7 series or  Intel's i5/i7 10th generation processors. It supports up to 32gb of RAM and RTX 2060 graphics card.

My ideal setup is a Ryzen 7 4800, 16gb of ram, and 1660ti/RTX 2060 video card with at least 144hz screens but this seems to be quite a dream that's why it's not yet available.

My second option would be a setup of i7 10750h, 16gb of ram, and RTX 2060 video card with at least 144hz screens. It will probably be priced around 80,000+ pesos based on the prices from resellers. It's almost available but the problem is most set up like this only comes with 120hz screen which is a bit of a downside.

Can you see the difference? I can and if you're planning to use it for content creation or even for gaming then I would highly suggest getting a 144hz screen. It not only provides a higher refresh rate that helps with smoother gameplay but also helps with color accuracy.

The keyboard has num pads which I personally like. I know there are people out there who also prefers the same especially if it will serve as your work laptop. I like how the arrow keys are full and placed on a good spot. I've heard very good feedback on the layout and feels of the keyboard.

The ports layout is designed in a way to avoid clutters. Most of the ports that require to place cables on it are on the back. Which helps make your setup simple and clean.

1. USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 (always on)
2. Headphone / mic combo
3. RJ45 ethernet
4. USB-C 3.2 (DisplayPort™)
5. 2x USB-A 3.2 Gen 1
6. HDMI
7. Power input
8. Kensington lock slot
9. LED power indicator
10. Novo button
11. USB-A 3.2 Gen 1

Thermals are one of the biggest factors for laptop longevity and that's one of the best things about the Lenovo Legion 5i. It has a perfectly balanced thermal system with proper ventilation. Most of the tests I've seen have their CPU and GPU temps around 60-70°C while playing games such as Control, Red Dead Redemption 2, The Witcher, and many more. I love how silent the fans are as well since I personally need a quiet environment when I need to focus either on work or games.

Overall I think this is the perfect work from home and gaming laptop that won't cost you too much. Good thermals, nice keyboard,  vibrant screen, powerful CPU and GPU, good placement of webcam with a sweet physical shutter, nice ports layout, and simple yet elegant design.

The only cons I can think of for now is the availability of good variants for video cards. A lot of people are also waiting for Ryzen 7 4800h to be partnered with 1660ti and above.
